Week one has passed and we finally got to watch college football again. There were fantastic performances all throughout the weekend. There is going to be some movement in the Heisman Ladder this week. Welcome to the Heisman Ladder, the top five players in contention for the Heisman trophy.

1. Caleb Williams

Caleb Williams has done nothing but ball out in his first two games. It looks like he is playing Madden out there on the field. While they have not played the best competition, Caleb has done what Caleb does. Williams has already tallied nearly 600 yards and 9 touchdowns. Out of nearly every serious Heisman candidate, he has the highest passer rating. In order for Caleb Williams to get knocked off of Number 1, USC either needs to stumble or Williams has a couple let down weeks. Until then, it is Caleb's to lose.

2. Michael Penix Jr.

Michael Penix Jr. picked up right where he left off last year. Penix through for 450 yards and 5 touchdowns against a Boise State team that may have life this year. The Huskies' offense looks unstoppable, especially with the perimeter weapons they have. Rome Odunze had over 100 yards and a touchdown. Jalen McMillan just missed triple digits, going for 95 yards on 8 catches. Up next for Washington is Tulsa in Seattle, which should be another big week for Penix and his receivers.

3. Jordan Travis

Talk about a performance. While Colorado had their stars dominate, Jordan Travis arguably had the best performance in Week 1. Florida State had to stay connected heading into halftime, and they did. After halftime, Travis and the Seminoles DOMINATED LSU. They outscored the Tigers 31-0 in the second half. It was bully ball on the ground and in the air. 380 total yards and 5 touchdowns against a team with playoff hopes is going to push you up the Heisman ladder.

4. Drake Maye

Maye slid just one spot due to the week Travis had. Just because he slid does not mean he played bad. Maye torched South Carolina's defense in a primetime game. Heading into the season, I did not think UNC's roster was at the level it had been in years past. I was wrong. Their receivers got open and the running backs ran with a purpose. Maye was slinging it all over the field en route to a 31-17 W. It was a statement game for Maye and the Tar Heels. Watch out for UNC in the ACC this year.

5. Bo Nix

The Ducks ROUTED Portland State in Week 1. Oregon put up 81 points in four quarters of football last Saturday. Bo Nix had a relatively quiet game as UO got it done on the ground, but 287 yards and 3 touchdowns is enough to keep him on the Heisman ladder for another week. Nix is going to have a shot to put up monster numbers in Lubbock on Saturday against Texas Tech.
